adamanteaAdamantea is an ascendant archmage of Mind, meaning she is part of the underlying mechanics of reality that govern minds, consciousness, feelings, thoughts, dreams, etc. Reading thoughts and feelings isn't her working magic, really, just her performing an action.
Which translates to: she is an apex telepath / omnipath with virtually unlimited power, as well as an equally capable empath.
By default she is actively self- and Admiral-limited while a Barge passenger & passively reads primarily surface thoughts & feelings: whatever a character is experiencing in the moment and potentially some longer-term contextual thoughts the current context has primed for. For the sake of RP, without an OOC check-in she will only actively reference or utilize information she has gathered in threads with her current thread partner.
Active uses of magic -- i.e. temporary emotion-dampening, instant-calm, feelings-editing, memory-editing, etc. -- will always have OOC check-in. This is primarily information she might gleam passively; she is actively trying not to push and look at things people don't necessarily want to share with her. (It'd be unethical, and if she does it people won't want to willingly share things with her! That's bad.)
This doesn't mean she always succeeds, because it's like breathing for her to Know You, but in general she won't actively intervene even if someone is an active danger to themself or others as long as it's on the Barge. (If real and permanent death is definitely 100% on the table... that's another story.)

IS MY CHARACTER UNREADABLE?: He is the OPPOSITE of unreadable: he is, in fact, very loud and will leave impressions all over the place. It's one of the things thaumaturges do.

He's also got 7 salutors inside him, congealed human belief and thought attached to bits of other people that he's imported and grafted into himself and one naturally one attached to his own Flaw (Pride). 5. She may be able to tell that he's very used to arcane telepathic communication
6. Also that he had a memory wiped once, and then returned

Her mind is a room that she has carefully designed, a place of power for her. From what we've seen, to invade without her permission would require basically luring her into one's own pocket domain and that's mostly catching her off guard. She's proven she can fight it off and dismiss the presence by her own strength. She's also got the means to negate power used *on* her alone, just shrug it off, as she is from all universes and none.

1. This is not a human psyche. This is a shard of a cosmic force of fire and rebirth shaped by the stolen and altered memories of another woman. She's far younger, far older, and exactly as old as she looks.
2. She's also a telepath, with tons of raw power but secondhand/self taught training.
3. Her mind is definitely - scarred, in a way, by demonic invasion and influence, and there's always a possibility that it could get worse.
4. Relatedly: she's fundamentally connected to a profoundly magical but spiritually corruptive pocket dimension. There's space in her mind for this that is not being used.
5. Might be able to sense the nature/shape of her Scythe, even if she hasn't summoned it?

ANYTHING SHE SHOULDN'T BRING UP?: Literally any indication that she's inside his head is going to make him grey rock and shut down and avoid her if it happens before a *whole* lotta trust gets established.

Malcolm has complex PTSD and autism. He takes his meds and does his self care but he does occasionally still hallucinate (usually when under duress) and he also has a psychogenic tremor in his right hand. At night he suffers from walking night terrors, but sleeps in restraints so he can’t harm himself or anyone else. And he’s a werewolf.

Maggie is in general fairly friendly and relaxed and emotionally regulated. Stubborn as hell, cares a lot. She has a deep well of spite for anyone who hurts her people that she keeps strictly under wraps. Emotions somewhat heightened from a typical baseline human level.

IS THERE ANYTHING UNUSUAL GOING ON WITH MY CHARACTER'S MIND OR EMOTIONS?: Yes! Will feels a lot of things that other people do. In fact, the Barge kind of gives him some significant ambient noise.
-If he hasn't gotten away or used his coping methods for awhile, he tends to sort of 'echo' the general emotional atmosphere of the ship. He also tries not to outwardly display this.
-One of his coping skills, developed over decades, is to interpret the 'outside emotions' in the form of imagery as a way to separate them from his own feelings. She might notice him essentially hallucinating things occasionally as well.
ANYTHING SHE SHOULDN'T BRING UP?: Nah, feel free to read him for filth.

IS MY CHARACTER UNREADABLE?: No, although the body's got a divine connection, I don't think it's the right kind to counter Poppy.
IS THERE ANYTHING UNUSUAL GOING ON WITH MY CHARACTER'S MIND OR EMOTIONS?: its me I'm multiple people. Steven is a member of a three-person multiple system with DID. His system is pretty small (three is small) so Steven wears a lot of hats that in a real life system might have been parceled out to like five different alters. Alters in DID systems have distinct jobs and roles, they split off to fill specific needs that serve the system. Steven is nice, but Steven is nice because Steven's most important function is to be a Fawn response and keep people demotivated from hurting the body. Secondary to that is letting the system mask by not knowing he's an alter in a system at all, and therefore being able to act like a person without any dissociative trauma. After that, his roles are to emotionally support the others (a lot of his behavior is just reflexive Emotional Protector/Caretaker work) and to be, unfortunately, the one that internalized a lot of what their abuser said when she was out of the acute physically dangerous phases so that he could better understand her and try to keep her happy with them.

IS MY CHARACTER UNREADABLE?: Nope. He's a "paladin" style avatar of another god, but the other god is not a mind-domain one.
IS THERE ANYTHING UNUSUAL GOING ON WITH MY CHARACTER'S MIND OR EMOTIONS?: Marc is Steven's alter! (Their third alter is named Jake and is perfectly comfortable almost never controlling the body and being left the fuck alone, thanks.) Marc knows they're a system, unlike Steven. Marc has a lot more memories than Steven does, and is almost always conscious when the body is (he's just hanging out quietly, watching Steven) Marc is in charge of the Fight and Flight responses, is a physical protector that makes sure he's always out instead of Steven when the body is about to have something physically scary happen to it, is a Gatekeeper function that is in charge of deciding which memories it's appropriate to release to the Apparently Normal Person (Steven) and, until two months before the Barge, was the system's "Host" - the one that spent the majority of the time fronting and controlling the body. Marc thinks he is the "original" and that everyone split off of him. This is not true. None of them are the original. Also, he doesn't even remember everything, because he doesn't know they've got Jake.
Also, he's the avatar of Vengeance (a paladin) in service of a low-quality obscure moon god (Khonshu) but we don't have time to unpack all of that.

IS MY CHARACTER UNREADABLE?: I’m going to say that it would be surprisingly difficult, but not impossible to read Darling’s mind. Darling exposed himself to the resonance of an extradimensional being called Hedron. (‘Resonance’ being the canon term for ‘weird supernatural energies/frequencies/etc.’) Hedron’s resonance had been used to ward off mental brainwashing from a different extradimensional being called the Hiss, though in a more mitigated way. I interpret Darling’s direct exposure to Hedron resonance as fucking with his brain in a way that helps keep out telepaths/mental brainwashing from extradimensional beings/anything that wants to take a peek inside his noggin.
(This is with a caveat a mile long that we don’t really know precisely how Hedron changed Darling and I reserve the right to tweak this if we learn anything new in Control: Resonant)
IS THERE ANYTHING UNUSUAL GOING ON WITH MY CHARACTER'S MIND OR EMOTIONS?: Darling’s mind is FUCKED. So most people in Control interact with Hedron’s resonance through HRAs, devices that amplify the ambient resonance created by Hedron in order to protect them from the Hiss’s brainwashing. Darling exposed himself to Hedron directly. Metaphorically speaking, everybody else is taking the recommended dose of cough meds, Darling’s chugged the full bottle, to the point where multiple people in canon basically went “oh Darling’s LOST IT.” Darling also has recently spent time in a different dimension called the Dark Place, a fucked-up horrorshow that operates on the rules of art and narrative logic instead of things like ‘natural science.’ He thinks he’s spent just under two years in the Dark Place but honestly, he’s not 100% sure how long he’s been there.
ANYTHING SHE SHOULDN'T BRING UP?: OOCly, I’m good with anything. ICly, Darling will shut down and immediately try to change the conversation if the conversation shifts towards anything related to Dylan Faden.
